Fun fact: I used to be DEEPLY freaked out by public speaking. Ten years ago, I would rather put eyedroppers full of hotsauce in my eyes than give a speech in front of 50 people much less 200. Cut to March of 2016 when I had the insanely awesome opportunity to address the esteemed members of the Women's Jewelry Association's "In the Know" at their annual meeting. In my keynote speech, I discussed the state of the economy when it comes to making luxury purchases. This is what I predicted: the HENRYS or the "High Earners Not Rich Yet" set will have more disposable income by 2017 (truth).
What I also predicted: people will be able to purchase jewerly in Starbucks. This is not true, but did you think you were going to be able to buy an Amazon Alexa in a Whole Foods? Or that a virtual currency would hit $19,000 per coin? I'm still gonna hold on to the idea that I will eventually be able to purchase a Cartier Love bracelet while I grab my almond milk cappuccino. :)
